Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a cash-pay practice at launch and accept cash, HSA, and FSA. We’re working toward in-network coverage with major insurers and will update our fees page as panels open. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.

Where are you located, and do you offer telehealth?

We offer secure telehealth visits to patients located anywhere in Colorado, and in-person appointments at our Denver office. You’re welcome to mix the two — many patients do an in-person evaluation and follow up by video, or vice versa.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. We’re currently accepting new patients aged 18 and older. The best way to begin is to request a consultation through our secure portal.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first visit is a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation. We’ll talk through your history, current symptoms, and goals, and discuss whether medication, therapy, or both may help. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis and the reasoning behind any recommendations.

Do you offer therapy, medication, or both?

Both — on their own or together. Some patients come for medication management, some for therapy, and many for a coordinated plan that combines the two. We’ll recommend what fits your needs, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Do you prescribe controlled substances, such as ADHD medication?

When it’s clinically appropriate, yes. As a Colorado-licensed prescriber we follow state requirements, including checking the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. Some medications call for an initial in-person visit or regular follow-up. We can’t promise any specific medication in advance — prescribing always follows a clinical evaluation.

What is your cancellation policy?

[Add your policy — e.g. 24-hour notice required; missed-visit fee $XX.] The full policy is included in your intake paperwork so there are no surprises.

Can you provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement?

Yes. On request we can provide an itemized superbill you may submit to your insurer. Reimbursement depends on your individual out-of-network benefits, which we’d encourage you to confirm with your plan.

Is telehealth private and secure?

Yes. Telehealth visits take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. We’ll send simple instructions before your appointment; you’ll just need a private space and a device with a camera.

What should I do in a crisis?

AB Psychiatry Group is not an emergency service. If you’re experiencing a mental health emergency or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Help is available 24/7.
